Profile

Zhang Jian, doctoral supervisor, is a professor and vice dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Guilin University of Electronic Technology. He has been included in the third batch of Bagui scholars in Guangxi, and the winner of the Guangxi Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. From 1999 to 2004, he studied at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and received a Ph.D. He then did his postdoctoral research at the Aix-Marseille University in France between 2004 and 2005, and the Humboldt University of Berlin in Germany from 2005 to 2009. In 2009, he was employed by the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a researcher of the “Hundred Talents Program” (2009-2014).

He mainly studies optoelectronic devices such as organic photoelectric materials, thin film transistors, and organic/perovskite solar cells. He has published 85 SCI articles in journals such as Adv. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., and his papers have been cited more than 2,400 times. He has applied for 20international and national invention patents (2 US and 3 national invention patents). He has presided over 4 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, important directional projects of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and key projects for returnees from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

He used to serve as chairman of the international and national academic branch conferences for 5 times, and made more than 20 reports and special reports. He won the "Humboldt" Scholar Award in Germany, and was the candidate of the “Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand” Talents Program in Liaoning Province and the first batch of “High-end Talents Introduction Project”. He is a key special evaluation expert of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the evaluation expert of the Changjiang Scholars Award Program of the Ministry of Education, and won Guangxi Youth Technology Award.

He is currently member of the Photochemical Committee of the China Renewable Energy Society, executive director of the National Materials New Technology Development Research Institute, member of the US Materials Research Society, expert of the Guangxi Natural Science Foundation, and member of the 10th Standing Committee of the Guangxi Youth Federation.
