Profile
Wang Xi is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Hunan University (HNU). He was one of the fourteenth batch of national “Thousand Talents Program” youth project winners.
In 2006, graduated from the HNU College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering with a bachelors degree in chemistry;
In 2013, graduated from the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry;
In 2014, started his postdoctoral research at the Organic Chemistry Institute, University of Münster, Germany;
In 2018, entered the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Hunan University and began to work independently.
 
His main study areas include introduction of fluorinated functional group, free radical chemistry in hypervalent iodine (III) reagents, and coupling reactions involving transition metal carbene.
 
His awards include: First Prize of the Natural Science of the Ministry of Education (corresponding author), Reaxys PhD Prize Finalists, Post-Doctoral Scholarship of the Humboldt Foundation of Germany, Roche-RSC Student Travel Award, Peking University Prime Scholarship, the Chemical Star Third Prize and the OPSS English Academic Report Award, College of Chemistry, Peking University.
