The Forth Sino-US Advanced Workshop of Mediation and Negotiation Is Held in Xiangtan University
The Forth Sino-US Advanced Workshop of Mediation and Negotiation inaugurated on June 8th in Xiangtan University, co-organized by the university, University of Massachusetts and “2011Collaborative Innovation Center of Hunan Construction of Rule of Law and Regional Social Governance”. Professor Liu Changgeng, vice-president of the host university attended the ceremony. The trainees of the course are students and teachers from three local Universities: Central South University, Hunan University and Xiangtan University.
This two-month workshop is part of 2014-2015 Global Vision Lectures of Xiangtan University, which is sponsored by Hunan Education Department. Two preeminent American experts are invited to make keynote speeches. They are David Matz, founder of Department of Conflict Resolution in the University of Massachusetts Boston, and Melissa H. Brodrick, appointed by Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court as one of twenty one members of the Standing Committee.
Xiangtan University and University of Massachusetts have been cooperating profoundly in many areas such as academic research exchange, educational cooperation and talent development ever since 2012 when the two universities established the collaborative bond. The workshop is one of those academic activities. Experts of the American university have given quite a few lectures in events of this kind, such as Sino-US Forum of Jury System, Sino-US Forum of Evidence Study and Advanced Training Course of Sino-US Mediation Study.
