The 5th International Forum on Advanced Material Science and Technology (IFAMST-5) Held by Our Unive


        On June 12, the opening ceremony of the 5th International Forum on Advanced Material Science and Technology (IFAMST-5) was held by our university. Yang Wei, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the meeting. The attendees also included more than 60 delegates from America, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, Japan, India, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, etc. More than 110 domestic experts from Tsinghua University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Hongkong University and other universities and scientific research institutes also attended the meeting.

        At the opening ceremony, Zhou Yichun, Vice President of our university and Chairman of the Conference Board, gave the attendees an introduction of our university and our major achievements in material scientific research field. The conference lasted 6 days, including general reports and branch reports discussing on composite material, nanometer material, thin film material, coating material, intelligent material and its structure, material processing technology, material preparation and processing numerical simulation, material solid mechanics and so on. Academic exchanges on advanced materials’ preparation, performance evaluation and its application also proceeded. 428 papers and abstracts were received and 188 papers will be published in a paper collection. The conference fully reveals the newest achievements, level and developing tendency in the material scientific research field.

        International Forum on Advanced Material Science and Technology (IFAMST) is a large-scale international academic conference which is held every two years. Since the first successful conference in London in 1998, the other three conferences were held in Tokyo in Japan, Anshan in China and Troyes in France. This conference further enhances the communication and cooperation among the foreign and domestic material and relative scientific researchers. It also effectively accelerates the direct communication and exchange between foreign and domestic scholars.
