Scotland Art Delegation’s Visit to Our University
Invited by our university, nine delegates of British Scotland Art Delegation paid a visit to our university for mutual discussion and communication of academic culture from September 14th to 15th, for the purpose of enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening inter-university academic culture communication. Vice-president Liu Changgeng and relative directors from International Exchange Center and School of Art accompanied the visit.
In the academic communication meeting held on the morning September 14th, Liu Changgeng made a brief introduction to the construction and development situation of the university, reviewed the development of the university’s international affairs work and fully acknowledged the important acceleration effect of strengthening inter-university academic culture communication to the development of the university. Our university has put special attention on academic communications with foreign scholars and has built international communication relationships with thirty-five famous foreign universities and scientific research institutions in USA, Britain, Japan, etc. A favorable academic communication platform has been built. Directors of International Exchange Center and School of Art respectively introduced the international affairs of the university, foreign students’ education, establishment and education mode of School of Art, etc.
Mr. Robin, Director of Education Development Department of Scotland National Museum, said that the beautiful campus, good education environment and profound humanity background of the university left them a deep impression. He hope that he could introduce Scotland art to China in the pleasant trip and at the same time spread the great Chinese culture and art to Scotland to let the Scottish people have a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and art. Ms. Zeng Xiulian, Scottish Chinese and Director of the delegation, lead an in-depth discussion on the aim and cooperation projects of the visit with Directors of International Exchange Center and School of Art respectively. They reached a primary agreement on our teacher’s teaching Chinese, traditional Chinese culture art and holding art exhibitions in Scotland.
On the afternoon of September 14th, the delegation visited the Art Exhibition of the teachers and students of School of Art in high spirits, and had friendly talks with the teachers and students.
The visit of the delegation lasted for two days, including visiting of School of Art of our university, appreciating the Art Exhibition of the teachers and students of School of Art, watching and learning the techniques of Chinese painting and giving academic reports.
