On September 8th in 2008, our students in the College of Mechanical Engineering won 2nd Prize in the 3rd National Mechanical Innovation Design Competition (Fischertechnik Team) for College Students (2008) and the 5th National Fischertechnik Engineering Innovation Design Competition.
The 3rd National Mechanical Innovation Design Competition (Fischertechnik Team) for College Students (2008) was held in Weihai Vocational College and attracted more than 60 works from more than 50 higher education institutions for the fierce final round competition. Waste-to-Energy System by Liao Hengyu, Chen Jianguo, Hu Chengbang, Tu Hongyan and Chen Peng in the College of Mechanical Engineering (advisers: Liu Jipu and Wen Meichun) was awarded 2nd Prize. This is the second time for our students to receive such honor in the National Mechanical Innovation Design Competition for College Students.
Waste-to-Energy System is deigned to meet the social need for constructing a Two-oriented Society due to the ever-increasing tonnages of waste. The system proves to be an ideal choice in constructing a resource-conserving and environment-friendly society since it integrates waste processing, generating electric power by incinerating the waste and off-gas treatment, and reduces, reutilizes and sanitizes the waste.
