Confucius Institute of University of Leon Celebrated Its First Anniversary



The Confucius Institute of University of Leon, which was jointly established by University of Leon and Xiangtan University, held its first anniversary on October 24th, 2012. The ceremony was held at the administration building of University of Leon. Participants included Spanish Prime Minister Zapatero, Counselor of Chinese Embassy to Spain Zhu Bangzao, President of University of Leon Hermida, Vice-President Liu Changgeng and President Assistant Tan Yuanqiang of Xiangtan University, Chinese President of Confucius Institute Tan Xiaoping and Spanish President of Confucius Institute Hu An.


 “One year ago, Du Zhanyuan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, People’s Republic of China and Mr. Zapatero, Spanish Prime Minister launched the Confucius Institute; one year later, with their mutual support, Confucius Institute at the University of Leon handed over an excellent report.” Hermida said positively at the anniversary ceremony. In his speech, Liu Changgeng congratulated on the achievement of Confucius Institute at the University of Leon, and hoped that our university and Confucius Institute of the University of Leon would work together to build a global model of Confucius Institute, create a model and flagship of comprehensive cultural exchange platform, meeting the diversified needs of Chinese language and culture learning for multilayer of different groups.
