Xiangtan University Builds Exchange and Cooperation Relationship with Universities in Latin America
Xiangtan University, Nov. 24, 2015: From November 13 to 19, 2015, Professor Zhang Jing, Party Secretary of Xiangtan University, leaded a delegation of 5 principals from International Exchange Department, Teaching Affairs Office, and School of Chemistry to Mexico and Cuba at the invitation of National Autonomous University (Mexico) and University of Havana (Cuba). Xiangtan University had an in-depth discussion with these two universities on building formal exchange and cooperation relationship, such as communication of teachers and students and cooperation on scientific research. In addition, Cooperation Memorandum is signed by Xiangtan University and University of Havana.
During the stay in Latin America, the delegation of Xiangtan University also visited Chinese Embassy in Mexico and Cuba. Mr. Qu Xiaoqi, Chinese Ambassador in Mexico and Mr. Zhuangtuo, Chinese Ambassador in Cuba had an interview with the delegation of Xiangtan University at ambassadors residence. They hoped that Xiangtan University could make full use of the opportunity to have further communication and cooperation with universities in Latin America with educational bilateral communication between China and Mexico and between China and Cuba strengthening constantly.
In recent years, international communication and cooperation of Xiangtan University has played an important role in serving the university development strategy of deepening internationalization process. It is the first time for Xiangtan University to send a delegation to visit Latin American, which has initiated the new pattern of communication and cooperation between Xiangtan University and universities in Latin America. The establishment of exchange and cooperation relationship with National Autonomous University (Mexico) and University of Havana (Cuba) symbolizes the opening of educational and academic communication and cooperation between Xiangtan University and universities in Latin America.
