XTU’s Mathematics Discipline Ranked World ESI Top 1%

XTU’s mathematics discipline was rated into the world’s top 1% by Clarivate Analytics Statistics (former Thomson Reuters Intellectual Property & Science) from its latest Essential Science Indicators (ESI), announced on May 11, 2017. XTU presently has four world’s top 1% disciplines on the ESI, namely, chemistry, materials science, engineering, and mathematics, accounting for 40% of the total number of selected disciplines in Hunan provincial-level universities.
XTU has published 439 ESI papers in mathematics during the statistical period from Jan. 1, 2007 to Feb. 28, 2017, which have been cited for 3620 times in total, and 8.25 times per paper on average. The average per paper citation ranked the 23rd among the 241 world’s top 1% research institutions, entering the top 1 ‰ ranking.

XTU was ranked the 1498th worldwide, ascending 64 places compared with that in March 2017. Among the four Hunan candidates for the ESI’s Chinese top 100 universities, XTU was the only provincial university, ranking the 88th on the list. The other three were Central South University, Hunan University, and National Defense Science and Technology University, at the ministerial level.
