XTU Delegation Visits Cooperative Universities in Germany and France
At the invitation of Germany’s University of Marburg, Hochschule Fresenius University and France’s UNIVERSITE DORLEANS, CPC Xiangtan University Committee Secretary Huang Yunqing led a six-member delegation to visit these cooperative universities from November 23 to November 29. The delegation consisted of heads from International Exchange Center, Planning and Finance Department, Law School & Intellectual Property Institute, and College of Civil Engineering and Mechanics. They conducted in-depth discussions on student exchange and joint training, teacher exchange, cooperative research, Confucius Institutes, and other areas of common interest.
During the visit to University of Marburg, the university’s Vice President for International Affairs and Research & Young Scholars Michael Bolker warmly welcomed Huang and the delegation. He briefed them on the basic situation of the university and highlighted cooperation projects with China. He expressed the willingness to conduct in-depth cooperation with Chinese universities.
Huang reviewed the exchanges between both sides and noted that University of Marburg is a well-established German university famous for talent cultivation and scientific research. He said that XTU is willing to further cooperate with the university on the basis of mutual understanding.
Huang held talks with Turk Rainer, principal of the Idstein campus of Hochschule Fresenius University during his stay there. The two sides focused on the joint masters training program and are intended to initiate new cooperation in the field of talent training.
President Ary BRUAND and First Vice-President of UNIVERSITE DORLEANS as well as Vice President for International Affairs LuigiA. Agrofoglio extended warm welcome to Huang and the delegation. At a symposium, relevant chiefs from the universitys Humanities and Social Sciences Department, Law Economics and Management Department, Science and Physical Education Department, and Institute of Engineers made a detailed introduction about the university and its departments.
XTU officially cooperated with French and German universities in 2004 and 2011 respectively. At present, 210 and more than 20 students have been dispatched to France and Germany respectively for study through student exchange programs.
